Bloomsday - celebrating James Joyce 'Ulysses'
Monday 16 June 7:30pm
kollectiv followed by farl
Join us for Bloomsday - the ultimate celebration of James Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’ - a stream of consciousness novel that takes places on the 16th June in Dublin.
Each year it’s celebrated in Ireland with readings, music, and kidneys for breakfast and brandy for lunch. And now, for the first time we’re bringing it to Folkestone.
Throughout the day we’ll be playing ‘Ulysses’ and engaging you in writing in your own stream of consciousness.
In the evening, we gather to hear readings from the book performed by actor Brian McGovern and Katie Beton with some music and joyful conversations.
Then, we pilgrimage to farl to celebrate some more!
All welcome! You don’t have to know what Ulysses is to enjoy this event. You’ll be a different person afterwards!
FREE but we ask you to register.
