Dropouts - film screening
Saturday 11 October
6pm
A screening of 'DROPOUTS' - a DIY, low-budget documentary celebrating the alternative youth culture of Folkestone, in memoriam of lost friends.
From director, writer and producer, Natasha Luetchford:
If Folkestone is an Art School and a Music Town then this documentary- DROPOUTS- recognises the unruly bunch who dropped out. This collaborative project captures alternative, youth culture in Folkestone by celebrating skating, hip-hop, graffiti, drag, metal and tattooing. Growing up in Folkestone, many of my friends have faced issues of mental health, homelessness and addiction.
When some of these friends have died young, so the term dropout took on a whole new meaning. This project aims to bring some positive attention to my grieving sea-side community, whose talents astound me, and to commemorate those gone.
