Robert Mitchell is an award-winning pianist, keyboard player, composer, songwriter, festival curator, poet, and author. He has released 14 albums with his last solo recording being the 2024  release “A Study (In The Key Of Now)” on 577 Records (NYC) - recorded as part of a solo concert given in the King’s Hall at Newcastle University in November 2023. It is the second solo EP from Robert Mitchell and the second live recording after the 2020 album “The Rainbow Mountain/Can We Care”. He will perform originals, improvisations, left hand only compositions and some music by legends. He will also narrate poetry.

Robert Mitchell is an award-winning pianist, composer, songwriter, poet, and educator. He has released 14 albums, 3 poetry collections, contributed to over 100 projects and toured  in 40+ countries. He leads the groups Little Black Book, TRUE THINK, Epiphany3, and The Flame. He has had his work performed by the London Sinfonietta, Bournemouth Symphony Chorus and was a featured poet/pianist at the 6th Poetry Biennale (Brașov, Romania). He was MD of the award winning Jazz 625 Live (BBC4). He is a prof at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, mentors at Black Lives in Music and was Artist In Residence at Morley College (2024-5). He is a new Tempo Fund Ambassador (Merton Music Foundation). His accolades include BBC Jazz Awards, Worldwide Awards Best Jazz Album, and a Paul Hamlyn composition award. Robert is a Steinway Artist and  is published by Bucks Music Group Ltd and Common Tone (Poetry).
